ISO = In Search Of
Hi everybody & thx for having ur attention! ;)

I am currently working on a ModelSite Project cuz I think there is nothing compareable on the NET & I think many many people would love to have a structured, informative & comprehensive Site which invites the visitor to surf & forget the time

First impressions:

It is pretty hard to write down and explain all my ideas and plans concearning the site's Content & Style so I created a short overview to show you the current Status of the Project & furthermore the necessary improvements as well as the remaining ToDo's:
__________________

General Information:

Title: Young & Beautiful
Category: Community ; Media Hosting/Sharing ; Scene-News
Content/Features:
• Young Model's Images; Image-Galleries
• News Portal with sticky & recent Scene-News
• Index of latest Site-Updates + Upcoming Media
• Well-structured Content-Archives & detailled information on files/folders/galleries & directories
• Random-Image Show

Structure&Functionality:

Navigation: 5 horizontal Topmenu-Buttons (News,Models,User Upload,Board,About) subdivided (-> vertical Submenu on the left) into further useful options each (e.g. to display folders & galleries along certain criteria of arrangement [...]); The 'Page-History' helps navigating through the subpages as you can easily return to the next superior page (see Image below):

Page-History explained in 3 Steps :D

Gallery-Details: by default assorted in chronological order; Folders can contain several galleries; clicking on 'View Galleries' opens them in a new Tab which mostly allows full-sized image-displaying
Functionality: Opening a folder in your browser automatically runs a PHP-Script (must be contained in the specific folder) so you don't have to take care for Image-Thumbnails, their order or the Layout itself. I will explain in detail on demand...
Image Rotation: Separate folder(s) 'Random Folder' (Foldername does NOT matter :)) ; Rotation is based on a simple PHP-File ('rotate.php') which is included as an ordinary image in the 'models_random.html'-File: <img style="width: 270px;" src="galleries/random/rotate.php" alt="A Random Image">

2b continued soon!

There are not enough modeling websites out there. There's tons of "pay" sites, but not enough free ones. Good luck.

Damn fine idea Zalotnik. If you're asking for opinions I like option 2 for the home page. It's clean and unfussy which I personally like. If you don't mind I have a couple of suggestions I'd like to make based on my own experience of moderating and running sites:

1. Rules. They need to be clear, friendly, unambiguous and comprehensive. (I have some experience writing legislation and will be happy to help here if you wish).

2. Get it right before you roll it out. Once you've got the site looking like you want it to I suggest you open it up to about 25 trusted members to take a look at and give their opinions/suggestions. (They could also put some content on the site before it's officially rolled out to the public).

3. Make it easy and quick to navigate. For example if you were going to have a section devoted to Vladmods have one thread per model. There is nothing more annoying than having to go from one short thread to another. Especially for those members who don't have a fast internet connection.

4. Make sure the site is regularly updated. A lot of members will get bored if they keep visiting the site and find no updates. People want activity. A stagnant board is the best way to lose members.

5. Keep it clean. Make sure that posts with dead links get removed quickly. (You might have a "trash can" section only viewable and accessible by moderators to move "dead" posts to). Also keep it free of anything that might be considered spam by most members.

6. Establish a "House Style" for posts. I'm not suggesting that you become too autocratic but if you can get the majority of members to post in a particular style it makes the site look cleaner and more professional.

Anyway just a few ideas. I hope you don't mind.

Just to make it clear, the images above are all showing the same site, just different parts in different resolutions :)

Thx Oberon for your hints which i think are very usefull; anyways u should have a look at the site (not screenshots) , this would explain more than my text :)
The fact that u already experienced in running sites wakes my interest, so i'd like to know if u would like to support this project; maybe we could guide it together?

Look your PM's, answere after that! :)

btw: do u also have experience in coding sites (php, mysql , ...)

Hi Zolatnik.

Thanks for your PM. I have replied with my impressions of the site but let me say here that it looks really good. You've designed it well in my opinion. I hope it goes really well for you.

You are in the right direction my friend. In my little opinion, i must to add some details:

*quick and easy to navigate.
*No heavy thumbnails.
*Reply to see content (to keep links alive).

Your design is really good.
